Cell Tower Inspection

Flying a cell tower is both exciting and scary. You want to fly as close as possible to get the best detail but then flying too close can cause big problems. There are 2 things that you must ALWAYS remember to do when flying cell towers. First, change your settings from return-to-home in the event of loss of communications with the controller to land. The RF up there can be very strong especially in the 2.4 GHz range and often it can disrupt the drone s communication. Return-to-home could bring the drone into the tower and the hover option would possibly make the drone hover in place until the battery dies. It would then land but at an undesirable speed. Next you want to make sure that your communication setting are set for 5.8 GHz and not 2.4. This will help you avoid signal loss due to the frequency of the tower.
